We’re proud to share that our probiotics have been added to the AEProbio’s Clinical Guide to Probiotics in the US and Canada. The established guide acts as a tool to aid decision making for probiotic therapy, translating scientific evidence into practical, relevant information. Covering four key categories – adult health, women’s health, paediatric health and functional food – it’s invaluable in providing science-backed information on product application, dose and formulation. For customers using these products, the guide offers reassurance that you are using the best probiotic strains on the market, as well as providing the consumer with more confidence to continue, or even start, using products formulated with our strains.

The probiotic products are ranked according to strict guidelines, with the highest recommended products requiring evidence obtained from at least one appropriately designed trial, through methods such as randomization, blinding or appropriate population comparisons. Secondary products require evidence from a well-designed controlled trial without randomization, and products recommended under the third ranking are based on the opinion of respected authorities. Both AB-KOLICARE and i3.1 probiotic strains are recommended at the highest level. For AB-KOLICARE, a 14-day trial found that a daily dose of our probiotic strains was safe and effective at reducing functional gastrointestinal disorders in infants.[1] Studies conducted on i3.1 found that the probiotic blend relieved symptoms of stress-induced gastric distress, and improved mental health and productivity.[2]

AB-LIFE, which is also recommended, has a unique probiotic formulation that’s been extensively studied and tested to reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels in blood, and therefore promotes a healthy gut due to its role in cholesterol excretion.[3] With an expert review board making the final decision for all recommendations, we’re proud to say that our products have been officially selected as some of the best on the market.

With demand for effective and safe probiotics consistently growing, it is essential to support clinicians on the science behind the products. This is where AEProbio’s guides comes in – it is a practical tool that many healthcare professionals have relied on for years, so we’re honoured to now be represented through it.

The guides separate real, science-backed products from other products with little to no scientific evidence behind them, and therefore provides clinicians with a comprehensive list of researched probiotics for specific indications. The guide looks out for the safety of consumers’ health and the credibility of health professionals.

“We’re thrilled that our probiotic strains are noted as an industry best and we are working on providing more evidence elsewhere so that we can expand this list for the industry”, Jordi Espadaler – Director of R&D and Innovation. “With the rapid development of new research, strain capabilities and evidence in the probiotic space, it’s important to have access to reliable information that clearly defines the applications and efficacy of a product. We hope that this official recommendation from AEProbio Clinical Guide to Probiotics can provide our customers worldwide with further confidence in our science-backed probiotic solutions.”
