Last january, a few days after CES in Las Vegas, the world’s leading tech event, Cigref published the findings of its working group on “Technological Innovations and Value for Information Systems,” led by Djilali KIES, Chief Information Officer at TDF, and Yann DAUDIN, Head of Innovation at FRANCE TRAVAIL. This report provides a “radar” of emerging technologies tailored to the needs of Cigref members, highlighting the specific challenges associated with each area, with the aim of identifying major trends and facilitating strategic decision-making by CIOs.

Ce rapport est disponible en français.

AI, generative AI, quantum or molecular computing, 6G or low-altitude constellations, and many other digital technologies are markers of the richness of the current and future technological offering, as well as the acceleration of these developments and the pace of transformation.

To help strengthen the role of Tech Leader that digital departments must play, Cigref has launched a working group to develop a “radar” for emerging digital technologies. It brought together 40 participants from 29 member organizations to explore these technologies from three perspectives: the current state of the art, factors to be taken into account when drawing up a three-year roadmap, and a forward-looking outlook for the next ten years.

This strategic report provides a non-exhaustive analysis of the technological challenges and prospects for CIOs and offers an initial basis for reflection to anticipate technological breakthroughs and their impact on information system architecture in the medium to long term.
