Students from the CEU Abat Oliba University have participated in the Youth4CliMed – CASS II education programme, a European initiative focused on raising awareness about climate change and sustainability in the Mediterranean. The activity took place in the city of İzmir (Türkiye) this February and brought together young university students from various countries in the Mediterranean area.

The CEU UAO was represented by students studying the Marketing and Sales Management degree and the Advertising and Public Relations degree, who formed part of this international meeting. The activity is part of the European project Climate Change Awareness in the Mediterranean from a Youth Perspective (Youth4CliMed), coordinated by DEHUKAM within the Erasmus+ programme.

The CASS II programme focused on the analysis of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their application in the Mediterranean, with special attention to marine and coastal sustainability. Throughout the sessions, which were taught in English by international specialists, activities were carried out that focused on protecting the Mediterranean ecosystem and combating climate change.

Inspired by the teaching team comprising Carmen Parra, Olga Lasaga and Chus López, the project allowed students to enjoy an international learning experience based on the exchange of knowledge and good practices. It also fostered intercultural dialogue and collaborative work with young people from different Mediterranean countries.

With this participation, the CEU Abat Oliba University strengthens its commitment to education in sustainability, the international dimension of its studies and the active involvement of its students in major global challenges.
