Friday, 20 March, marked the end of the restoration works on the Freyssinet Test Arch — the very place where Eugène Freyssinet first demonstrated the principle that would revolutionize modern construction: prestressing.
Built in 1908 and now a listed as a Historic Monument, the arch stands as an open‑air laboratory and a cornerstone of our engineering heritage.
Through a skills‑based sponsorship initiative and a close partnership with the City of Moulins, Freyssinet has restored this century‑old structure (from November 2025 to February 2026) with:
- Concrete restoration
- New‑generation prestressing
- Conservation works inspired by the original experiment
