This Sunday, 8 March, is International Women’s Day, and for these reasons, the ITACA-UPV reaffirms its commitment to equal opportunities and to making female talent in science and technology more visible.
Eloína Coll, Gemma Lucas, Ángela González and Zoe Valero, researchers from ITACA who represent different stages of a scientific career, discuss their personal views on scientific careers.
Eloína Coll: “My advice for future women researchers is to be passionate about what they do. Research makes sense when the work we carry out has a real impact on society».
Gemma Lucas: “Doing a PhD means being on the front line of technological change, contributing to the generation of knowledge«.
Ángela González: “One of the main challenges for younger women researchers is learning to manage uncertainty, something inherent to research”.
Zoe Valero: “Science needs women. If we want to change things, we must be present. Only by participating can we contribute our perspective«.
Because promoting science also means promoting equality!
