Reimagine Care, the leader in virtual oncology care, today announced a major evolution of Remi, its AI-powered assistant designed to support cancer patients between visits and help oncology care teams respond earlier to symptoms and treatment concerns while creating a more accessible, patient-friendly experience during treatment. The enhanced system safely leverages artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) to enable more natural, sophisticated conversations with patients, capturing important clinical information about their symptoms and knowing when to escalate to humans.

Remi plays a central role in Reimagine Care’s virtual oncology care model, which connects patients with oncology-trained clinicians through its Virtual Care Center (VCC) to help manage symptoms, coordinate care and prevent avoidable emergency department visits. By enabling patients to communicate more naturally and helping clinicians quickly interpret those conversations, the enhanced Remi helps ensure patients receive timely support while care teams are better prepared for each interaction.

Having already supported over 10,000 patients and hundreds of thousands of interactions, this next generation of Reimagine Care's Virtual Oncology Platform opens the door to supporting patients and caregivers on advanced therapies like CAR-T outside the hospital setting, and addressing other parts of the cancer journey — from survivorship to end-of-life care.

Key innovations powering Remi’s new era include:

  • Oncology-Native Design: Built specifically for cancer care, Remi is designed around oncology treatment journeys, symptom patterns and the workflows of oncology care teams. This allows the system to better recognize the nuances of patient-reported symptoms and support clinical triage pathways aligned with cancer treatment protocols.
  • Advanced AI for Deeper Patient Understanding: Powered by modern AI and LLMs, Remi interprets patient intent and context during conversations. It analyzes complex messages such as when patients report multiple symptoms at once and translates them into structured, clinically meaningful insights that help route patients through appropriate codified clinical pathways.
  • Expanded Patient Safety Safeguards: Remi incorporates expanded safety protections including structured prompts, purpose-built tooling and continuous automated monitoring of patient conversations. Each interaction is evaluated using Reimagine Care’s proprietary framework to ensure the system operates within defined clinical guardrails and escalates appropriately to human clinicians when needed providing complete traceability.
  • Reimagined Care Team Experience: The platform supporting Remi and patient interactions has been redesigned to improve workflows within the Virtual Care Center. A modernized care management interface and AI-assisted summarization of patient conversations help clinicians quickly understand patient needs, prioritize follow-up and respond more efficiently.
