Speaking up about living with HD is never easy and it takes courage to do so.
Árni Gautur Arason, a former international goalkeeper, once one of the most recognised names in Icelandic football, has returned to the field where he played for more than six years in Norway, this time with a message that goes far beyond the game.
After years of silence, Árni has chosen to openly share that he has been living with Huntington’s disease for over a decade, only discovered after the end of his career.
By choosing to share his story, he is helping to break the stigma around the disease, raise awareness, and remind us why openness matters. The answer should never be silence.
We are deeply grateful for his courage of using his voice to talk about a serious matter and inspire others to do the same.
Watch the video to see Árni some weeks ago returning to the team where he played for in Norway.
The silence ends here!
