From 16 to 18 April, the 4th Student Leadership Bootcamp gathered 77 participants from Collegio Ghislieri, Collegio Don Nicola Mazza, Collegio Lucchini, John Cabot University, Lithuania University of Health Sciences (LSMU), University of Ljubljana, University of Luxembourg, Collegio Nuovo-Fondazione Sandra e Enea Mattei, Sabancı University, Franklin University, Fondazione RUI, Collegio San Carlo, CEU San Pablo, Perrotis College, Collegio Lamaro Pozzani "Cavalieri del Lavoro", ONAOSI, Uhasselt University, and from the hosting university, came together at Warsaw University of Technology.
The three-day event brought together students from across Europe to exchange ideas and best practices on strengthening engagement within their communities. Through interactive workshops and student-led discussions, participants explored key themes including leadership, sustainability, and mental health.
A central focus of this year’s bootcamp was inclusive leadership, learning how to lead while ensuring that no one is left behind. What set the event apart was its student-driven approach: participants were not just attendees, but active contributors, presenting their own models and leading conversations on the future of student engagement.
To further enhance the impact of these contributions, this edition encouraged participants to move beyond traditional presentation formats in favor of more original and engaging methods. The objective was to challenge students to represent inspiring ideas through innovative lenses, fostering a more direct and impactful connection with the audience.
Participants embraced this challenge by adopting diverse methodologies, such as theatre sketches and role-plays to simulate real-world scenarios, or documentary-style narrations that cast the audience as witnesses to their vision. Others utilized the “World Café” and “Gallery Walk” formats to transform the space into a collaborative workshop, or guided their peers through evocative photo-print journeys.
By incorporating physical objects as metaphors and utilizing TED-style talks with movement to create proximity and intimacy, students were able to articulate complex concepts with remarkable clarity. This shift away from classical slides allowed each group to share their challenges and ideas in a unique and persuasive manner, demonstrating a high level of creativity and professional growth.
The outstanding results were driven by a seamless coordination: trainers worked closely with students to collect, review, and refine every presentation. This rigorous feedback loop, from pre-event preparation to post-delivery critiques, ensured an exceptionally high standard of quality and a truly impactful outcome.
Beyond the sessions, the bootcamp fostered meaningful connections and cultural exchange, reinforcing a shared vision of building a collaborative European student network grounded in diversity and mutual learning.
As Maria from the American University of Bulgaria reflected, “Student leadership and engagement is crucial… to be a leader means to work every single day, and to learn from others.”
The participants contributed to an enriching and impactful experience, one that continues to shape the future of student leadership across Europe.
