JAMS Reports Rising Global Demand for ADR in 2025 Resolution Report

JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to share its 2025 global caseload statistics. Now in its fourth year, the JAMS Resolution Report captures the number and types of international matters handled.

In 2025, 21,939 new cases* were filed with JAMS, representing an increase over the prior year. JAMS handled a total of 28,345 active cases** during the year. Of the new cases, 308 were international, marking an increase of nearly 16% over 2024. These matters involved parties from jurisdictions around the world, with the top non-U.S. locations including Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, France and the United Arab Emirates. The most frequently selected places of arbitration were New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Miami, highlighting the continued prominence of the United States as a leading forum for international dispute resolution.

The 2025 Resolution Report illustrates extensive use of JAMS’ services and the broad application of its arbitration rules, reinforcing itself as the premier provider of ADR worldwide. International arbitrations filed under JAMS Rules increased by 51% compared to 2024, reflecting growing reliance on JAMS’ procedural framework, best-in-class neutrals and concierge-level client service. International arbitrations that proceeded to award were resolved in an average of 20 months, underscoring the efficiency of JAMS’ processes. Matters spanned a wide range of practice areas and industries, including energy and renewables, engineering and construction, entertainment, financial markets, health care, insurance, intellectual property, life sciences, smart contracts and blockchain, sports, and technology.
