Solange Peters is a Swiss medical oncologist and Professor, Head of Oncology, and Chair of Medical Oncology at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). Trained in Switzerland and Italy, she specializes in thoracic oncology, particularly lung and pleural cancers. Her research focuses on biomarker discovery, multimodal strategies for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer, and cancer immunotherapy. Beyond her clinical and scientific work, she holds numerous leadership roles, including positions with ETOP, Oncosuisse, the Paris-Saclay Cancer Cluster, and the Swiss Cancer League. She served as President of ESMO from 2020 to 2022, the youngest in its history, and is actively involved in international education initiatives. She also founded ESMO’s “Women for Oncology” committee. A highly prolific researcher, she has authored over 500 publications and holds editorial roles in leading oncology journals.
