Top CDP Rating Shows Progress in Building a Responsible Supply Chain
Sustainability is only as strong as the supply chain behind it. For Autoneum, a company active in 25 countries with around 1,000 direct suppliers and another 11,000 indirect spend suppliers, that means embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into how we screen and partner with the businesses that supply us. Our progress in 2025 – capped by our first leadership-tier A rating in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment – shows this work is delivering measurable results.
Top A Rating in CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA)
In 2025, Autoneum was once again recognized by the CDP for its high level of supplier engagement. Of the more than 22,100 companies that disclosed their environmental data for 2025 through the CDP platform, Autoneum received an A – the highest rating – in the SEA for the first time, acknowledging Autoneum’s efforts and leadership in engaging suppliers on climate action and advancing sustainability across the value chain.
A responsible supply chain is not a destination – it is the result of continuous improvement. The work happening every day across our organization is moving Autoneum, and our supply chain, closer to a more responsible and sustainable future. Find out more below about our efforts in this area.
A Strategy Built on Responsible Procurement
Through our Level Up strategy, introduced in 2024, Autoneum is engaging suppliers across each Business Group to accelerate sustainability improvements, reinforcing responsible procurement as a driver of future competitiveness.
Every supplier must adhere to our Code of Conduct for Suppliers, which defines clear requirements across four pillars:
- Protection of human and labor rights
- Protection of the environment
- Material compliance
- Business ethics and responsible business conduct
These commitments are reinforced by our adherence to international standards including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, and the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code. Our procurement management framework is also evaluated annually against the ISO 20400 sustainable procurement standard.
Targeting Scope 3 Emissions with Suppliers
Because of the substantial emissions generated in the upstream process stages of our products, supplier engagement is central to our goal of reducing CO₂ emissions from purchased goods and services by 20% by the end of 2027.
Each quarter, our teams meet with selected high-emitting suppliers to discuss concrete carbon emission reduction levers, improve recycling rates, and launch energy-saving projects at their production sites. Overall, the shift from virgin raw materials toward recycled-content alternatives is a key decarbonization driver, lowering the carbon intensity of our raw-material supply chain.
Commitment to Human Rights
We are committed to proactively defining and implementing measures within our sphere of influence to prevent human rights violations within our global operations and value chain. In the event that any incidents do arise, we will take immediate measures to address them.
We ensure compliance with human and labor rights regulations among our suppliers through our Code of Conduct for Suppliers, the completion of a questionnaire on our third-party risk screening platform, and/or a child labor self-declaration for suppliers. In addition, we carry out media screening for ESG risks with a third-party provider.
Anyone can report human rights concerns related to our organization or supply chain to Autoneum’s compliance organization or via the Speak Up Line.
