About the End of the Ceasefire in Gaza – ACOM

The end of the ceasefire in Gaza is the logical and inevitable consequence of Hamas’s refusal to release all kidnapped hostages immediately, particularly after evidence emerged of torture, abuse, and inhumane conditions of captivity as recounted by former hostages.

Israel has not violated any truce. Its terms have been systematically breached by Hamas, which rejected every proposal to extend the initial phase of the ceasefire aimed at securing the release of all hostages, despite intense mediation efforts by the United States.

Hamas cynically exploited these days of operational pause to rearm, rebuild tunnels, and plan new attacks against Israel. Terrorists have publicly displayed the military strength they retain and the control they exert over Gaza’s territory and population. Given this reality, the war, whose logical and uncompromising objectives are the definitive defeat of Hamas and the liberation of hostages, must continue until these goals are achieved.

There can be no temporary solutions or leaving the task incomplete. History has taught us that only the total and definitive defeat of an enemy with genocidal intentions, ending its dominion over territory and population, can lead to the establishment of lasting peace.

However, Hamas does not seek peace, just as it did not on October 7. The immediate and unconditional release of all hostages could have prevented the end of the ceasefire. The enthusiastic support still provided to Hamas by much of Gaza’s population and the ruthless control over those opposing it remains an issue that can only be managed by separating combatants from non-combatants and allowing those who do not support Hamas to leave the conflict zone, as requested by Israel and the U.S., a request opposed by Arab countries and the EU.

We will now again witness the same macabre spectacle: masked and uniformed terrorists armed to the teeth will disappear from Western cameras, replaced by the same murderers dressed as civilians, pretending to evacuate “victims” to hospitals. Gaza has become a grand stage set for media eager for propaganda that demonizes the “evil Jews.” The same parents in Gaza who proudly posed with their children in repulsive ceremonies celebrating the murder of Israeli babies will now tearfully showcase these same children denouncing the horrors of Israeli attacks. And those who refused the evacuation of Gaza’s non-combatants will now horrifyingly regurgitate figures of “civilian” deaths provided by Hamas’s “Ministry of Health,” without any verification.

We have already seen this film: those who remained silent during massacres committed by Turkey against Kurds in occupied northern Syria, those who turned a blind eye to the murders of Christians, Alawites, and Druze at the hands of Al Sharaa, a jihadist like Hamas under Erdogan’s command, will return to their reports and demonstrations. And the EU, quick to legitimize and finance the terrorist who led Al-Qaeda in Syria while committing horrific crimes against minorities in his country, will issue unequivocal condemnations against… Israel.

Let them howl. At ACOM, we reaffirm our strong support for Israel in its fight against terrorism and the defense of its citizens. The State of Israel has not only the right but the duty to protect its population and ensure that a massacre like that of October 7 never happens again.

The only lasting peace will come after the total and definitive defeat of Hamas, the liberation of all hostages, and the establishment of a government in Gaza that does not aim at the destruction of Israel and the genocide of the Jews. Any other solution is merely a temporary postponement of the problem and a betrayal of the victims.
