“El Pueblito” of Los Álamos is born from the desire to reinterpret Andalusian vernacular architecture through a contemporary lens.
Inspired by the simplicity of the ”el cortijo”, the purity of white, and the refreshing character of southern gardens, the development recovers the essential values of life in the villages of Cádiz: the patio, sunlight and shade as a common language and community life as the essence of inhabiting.
“La Solera” embodies the unique identity of Cádiz: intimate spaces that embrace everyday life, patios that become sanctuaries of well-being and an atmosphere where the interplay of sun and shade marks the passing of time.
The architecture responds by adapting to the climate and geography through passive strategies. Cross-ventilation, orientation, shade and sunlight are harnessed to ensure comfort throughout the day and changing seasons, making Los Álamos a living, rooted and respectful destination.
The project is structured around ”La Rivera”, a green corridor that emerges from an existing fissure in the terrain and extends throughout the complex as its central axis. This landscape gesture weaves the environment together, unifying the different areas through an organic network of native, low-water vegetation, consolidating a system of natural spaces that enhance biodiversity and strengthen the relationship with the landscape.
At the heart of the complex, “La Plaza” acts as its soul —the threshold of encounters, the point where everything converges. A union of architecture, territory, and culture that is also reflected in the choice of materials: dry stone, lime, stucco, and even the natural fabrics of furnishings crafted by local artisans.
The architecture settles into the topography and the landscape. The harmonious composition of the different elements —homes, branded apartments, and hotel— adapts to the nature of the site, rising from the beachfront among dunes and pine trees. The result is an architecture that blends into its surroundings, becoming an integral part of the place and its experience.
