L-R: E. Buratti and F. Cantao, ICGEB

ICGEB was in attendance at the Expo IRC 2025 this month, where the vision is to shape the future of research commercialization.

11-12 December 2025, Cairo, following the General Assembly of the InterAgency Academy Panel IAP, the International Commercialization Expo, IRC 2025, took place, bringing together local and international researchers and innovators from across the globe to build strategic partnerships and stimulate innovation.

Dr. Emanuele Buratti, ICGEB Scientific Coordinator, and Dr. Fernando Rodrigo De Oliveira Cantao from the Fundraising, Technology Transfer and Innovation Office, were in attendance. “The great attention that Egypt is giving to these important themes and its willingness to play a leading role in the global knowledge economy has been made clear to me by the visit of our stand by HE Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and HE Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research,” writes Dr. Buratti, adding: “Thank you also to our ICGEB Governor, Professor Gina El-Feky, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the InterAcademy Partnership, who made this event possible.”

The ICGEB, representing Italy, showcased cutting-edge research that contributes to the Organisation’s global efforts for biodiversity restoration and sustainable food systems. The B-INOC Africa project was outlined as an example to accelerate innovation, technology transfer, and the development of microbial bioinoculants for resilient agricultural production and affordable food processing.

By combining science diplomacy with biotechnology research and innovation, ICGEB works to close the gap between innovation, development, and the effective deployment of sustainable agriculture.

Through this participation, ICGEB reaffirms its commitment to advancing scientific innovation and international collaboration in support of sustainable agriculture and global food security.
