PARIS (Dec. 17, 2025) – Friendly competition is the name of the game as online action football game Rematch hits Season 2 today. Sloclap is bringing their A-game, and their ugly holiday sweaters, as we head into the winter season with a variety of new content from top to bottom for the multimillion-selling game including an all-new 1v1 mode, features, updates, outfits and more. The game’s 1v1 mode will roll out in January, but fans can get a head start on the rest of the content update starting today. Season 2 continues Sloclap’s commitment to evolving Rematch with meaningful gameplay updates shaped by community feedback and ongoing tuning.
The game gets a fun new addition with the all-new 1v1 mode, allowing players to go head-to-head in a lighthearted rivalry. Face challengers one on one and hone your dribbling skills to be the best of the best on the pitch. The mode will be available in January and will return later in the season as a Custom Game option.
Alongside the new 1v1 mode in the Backstreet Arena Stadium, Sloclap has implemented a variety of updates that improve player immersion including new Goalkeeper animations and noteworthy upgrades to locomotion and dribbling, allowing for more reactive and fluid movement on the pitch.. And for those who want a bit more variety in their stadiums, the studio introduces two new gorgeous virtual arenas: the Clouds VR transports player to a whimsical and captivating skyhigh arena, while the new Dragon Bay VR harkens an exotic tropical mountain region with imposing jutting peaks and ethereal mist at the twilight hours.
To fully embrace the holiday spirit, players can also take the field in style (or something close to it) with the delightfully questionable Ugly Sweater bundle, available from December 17 for three weeks of festive, fashion-defying fun. And later in Season 2, the explosive Fireball Mode makes its return. In this fast-paced twist, teamwork reigns supreme: the more passes your squad strings together, the higher your score when the ball finally rockets into the net.
