The 2026 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2026 – Trofeo Conde de Godó will feature the participation of the 2024 champion, Casper Ruud. The Norwegian player, currently ranked No. 13 in the ATP rankings, has confirmed his presence in Barcelona from April 11 to 19 to compete in one of his favorite tournaments (it will be his sixth appearance) and aim for a second title.
The last player to win the tournament twice was Carlos Alcaraz, in 2022 and 2023. The Spanish star was in fact the first to confirm his participation in the upcoming edition of the tournament, which takes place on the courts of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899.
Over the past few years, Casper Ruud has established himself as one of the best players in the world and, at 27 years old, is a contender in any tournament he enters. Last year he lifted the trophy at the Madrid Masters 1000 and the ATP 250 in Stockholm. Ruud is a clay-court specialist, trains at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, and 12 of his 14 career titles have come on this surface (in addition to reaching a total of 20 finals).
