The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó presented its 73rd edition in a large-scale event at the Palauet Albéniz. The tournament will be held from April 11 to 19 at the courts of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 and will feature the world’s best player, Carlos Alcaraz. The Murcian player, who started this year with victories at the Australian Open and the ATP 500 in Doha, will be the headliner of a high-level edition that will also include Top-10 players Lorenzo Musetti (ATP No. 5), Alex de Miñaur (ATP No. 6), and Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP No. 8). The 2024 champion, Casper Ruud, will also participate, seeking his second title at the RCTB-1899 courts. Alcaraz will aim for his third title in Barcelona, after winning in 2022 and 2023 and being finalist in 2025 against Holger Rune. Additionally, the tournament announced that this year’s first wildcard will be awarded to Rafa Jódar, 19 years old and currently ATP No. 109, one of the most promising Spanish players.

The presentation of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell took place in a historic setting within the Palauet Albéniz and included the participation of the mayor, Jaume Collboni; along with the president of RCTB-1899, Jordi Cambra; the tournament CEO, Xavier Pujol; the tournament sporting director, Tommy Robredo; the president of Banco Sabadell, Josep Oliu; the editor-president of Grupo Godó, Javier Godó, Conde de Godó; and the Conseller d’Esports, Berni Álvarez. During the ceremony, the Off-Court Awards were also presented to this year’s honorees, the Emilio Sánchez Vicario Foundation and Lis Arilla.

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell will once again this year be the main meeting point for business and the setting for closing agreements that elevate the city of Barcelona internationally. For nine days, the tournament’s Hospitality will bring together the country’s leading business, political, social, cultural, and sports groups. Additionally, this year, Fan Week will be launched the week before, with a schedule of sports and social activities to warm up the engines. This momentum will also be promoted from a social perspective, with numerous charitable initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those most in need through the Fundación Tenis Barcelona, which will once again be the official Charity Partner. As in previous years, the tournament will continue its commitment to environmental care with its ambitious sustainability plan, which is a global benchmark in sporting events.
