The CEU Abat Oliba University celebrated a new edition of International Week, a week dedicated to introducing the university community to the traditions, cultures and realities of the countries from which its international students come.

During the week, the campus cloister became a meeting point to share experiences, strengthen ties between students and highlight cultural diversity as an enriching element of university life.

Among the highlights was the International Trivial, a lively quiz in which participants tested their knowledge of the culture, traditions and curiosities of different countries in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. The winner of this Trivial was the Dominican Republic.

One of the week’s most anticipated events was the 9th International Gastronomy Competition in which teams of students represented various countries through their gastronomy, decoration and music. This edition included entries inspired by Spain, Ecuador, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Chile, which the university community was able to sample and judge. The last of these, Chile, were crowned winners of the Gastronomy competition.

In addition, throughout the week, the Language Service organised an activity in the campus hall aimed at fostering cultural exchange and language learning. Through a participative panel, international students shared curious words from their languages along with their meaning or a cultural explanation, thereby bringing linguistic diversity closer to the rest of the university community.

With initiatives such as International Week, the CEU Abat Oliba University strengthens its commitment to internationalization, welcoming international students and promoting activities that encourage intercultural dialogue within the campus.
