Circular economy or subproducts recyclability has been a core principle at UBE Composites Europe for decades. With more than 20 years of experience in circular economy projects, the company develops engineering thermoplastics with certified recycled content with high technical performance. This long-standing commitment began with the recycling of textiles and fishing nets as early as 1975 and continues today through advanced materials designed for demanding industrial applications.

UBE’s recycled materials portfolio covers several polymer families, including PA6.6, PA6, PP, and PC, offering recycled content levels ranging from ≥25% up to ≥65%, depending on the grade. These materials are part of well-known families such as Dinalon®, Dinaplen®, and Dinaxan®, and many grades feature AENOR-certified recycled content, providing transparency and reliability for customers seeking verified solutions

Performance remains a key priority. Comparative data between standard and recycled grades shows that recycled materials retain strong mechanical properties, including tensile and flexural modulus, impact resistance, and heat deflection temperature. For example, recycled PA6 grades demonstrate comparable stiffness and strength to standard equivalents while delivering a significant reduction in carbon footprint. Carbon footprint analysis (cradle-to-gate, conducted according to ISO 14040/14044 standards) highlights a CO₂ footprint reduction of approximately 40%, decreasing from 3.94 kg CO₂ eq. per kg for standard materials to 2.39 kg CO₂ eq. per kg for recycled alternatives.

Durability is also preserved over time. Heat ageing tests show high impact retention after prolonged exposure, confirming that recycled thermoplastics can meet long-term performance requirements in applications such as automotive components, electrical housings, household appliances, profiles, and technical parts.

By combining waste material valorization, investment in R&D&i, and certified recycled content, UBE Composites Europe enables manufacturers to reduce carbon footprint without compromising quality, safety, or reliability.
