Injection molding places specific demands on polymer materials, particularly when components must withstand repeated mechanical stress, surface contact, and demanding service conditions. In technical applications such as functional components, mobility elements, or industrial accessories, material durability and consistent mechanical performance are key to long-term reliability.

Thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) are widely used in these environments thanks to their combination of strength and flexibility. However, not all TPU grades offer the same resistance to wear, deformation, or chemical exposure. In demanding applications, insufficient abrasion resistance or poor mechanical stability can lead to premature wear and reduced component lifespan.

This creates the need for TPU materials specifically designed for durability under mechanical stress while remaining suitable for injection molding. ETERNALAST® LS7093A has been developed to meet these requirements, combining mechanical robustness with reliable processing behavior.

ETERNALAST® LS7093A is a TPU grade intended for injection molding applications where wear resistance is critical. It offers excellent abrasion resistance (29 mm³) and high tear strength (131 kgf/cm), supporting reliable performance in parts exposed to repeated contact or friction. Its compression set of 15% (22 h at 70 °C) helps molded components retain their shape and functional properties under prolonged mechanical load.

With a hardness of 93 Shore A / 41 Shore D, ETERNALAST® LS7093A provides a balanced combination of rigidity and flexibility, allowing components to maintain dimensional stability while absorbing impacts and vibrations. The material also delivers a tensile strength of 46 MPa, supporting stable mechanical behavior in demanding technical applications.

In addition, resistance to oil, grease, and nonpolar solvents makes this TPU suitable for environments where chemical exposure is common. Designed for injection molding, it enables the production of parts with excellent surface finishing when appropriate drying and processing conditions are applied.

Typical applications include injection-molded technical parts, cleaning devices, sporting goods components, and chair casters, where durability and wear resistance are essential.
