The UK–Puglia Business Forum, an event dedicated to strengthening economic ties between the United Kingdom, Puglia and Basilicata, with a particular focus on innovation, digital transformation and renewable energy, took place on 19th March at the headquarters of Confindustria Bari and BAT.
The meeting brought together British and Italian institutions alongside representatives of major industrial players operating in both countries. A roundtable, introduced and moderated by Antenna Sud journalist Ilaria Delvino was also held, providing a platform for key figures from the highest-growth potential sectors. Fincons Group, Mermec and Mapei were among the examples of Italian investment in the United Kingdom.
In his contribution to the roundtable, Francesco Moretti, Group Deputy CEO and International CEO of Fincons Group, highlighted the value of the operational model built by the Group and the growth of its business in the UK, where Fincons opened its own office 10 years ago: "Our presence in the United Kingdom is built on a delivery model that synergistically combines local teams, working alongside clients every day, with our smart-shore teams operating from Fincons Future Gateway in Bari and from the Delivery Hubs across the region. This is an integrated ecosystem that allows us to guarantee quality, continuity and speed of execution. The Future Gateway represents the beating heart of this model: here we have developed solid process expertise and cutting-edge vertical solutions that we make available to international markets. In the UK we already support major players in the Media, Financial Services, Energy & Utilities sectors, and we are working to extend our presence into other industries, taking our know-how where it can generate the greatest value."
Regarding the growth journey that led the Group to open an office in London, Michele Moretti — CEO of Fincons Group — states: "The history of our company is rooted in over forty years of growth, guided by a long-term vision and the values that are typical of a family company. Ours is an identity that has allowed us to evolve over time into a global player in IT consulting, without ever losing our DNA. In 2016 we began our internationalization journey by opening the London office, chosen as a strategic bridge for our future expansion into the United States. From there, we began exporting our delivery model, which is strongly tied to know-how and a Made in Italy approach, to international markets, placing expertise and innovation at the service of companies across a range of industries."
The event closed with a shared commitment to the continued strengthening of economic and industrial cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Puglia region.
