A hyperscale ecosystem with secured power capacity of 300–500 MWe, scalable up to 1 GW, featuring a self-consumption renewable energy plant, high efficiency, and global connectivity, designed to meet the new demands of advanced computing.
At Nostrum DATA CENTERS, we are developing BAZ01 in the logistics platform of Badajoz as a next-generation infrastructure aimed at addressing the growing needs of artificial intelligence in Europe.
We conceive this project as a comprehensive hyperscale computing environment that combines supercomputing, sustainability, and operational efficiency from its design stage.
BAZ01 will have an initial capacity of 500 MW, scalable up to 1 GW, positioning itself among the largest digital infrastructures on the continent.
The project will be supported by a dedicated 300 MW photovoltaic plant, enabling the direct and competitive supply of renewable energy.
The campus has been designed to achieve a PUE of 1.1 and to optimize resource usage, in line with the most demanding European standards.
Construction will begin in 2026, with operations expected to start in 2028.
Badajoz offers a strategic and key position on the Lisbon–Madrid axis, with access to international connectivity infrastructure and a favorable environment for technological development.
The availability of industrial land, proximity to universities, and the ability to attract qualified talent strengthen its positioning as a digital hub.
BAZ01 has been recognized as a regional strategic project, which boosts its development and impact on the territory. We are also confident that it will become an AI gigafactory leading the new generation of state-of-the-art digital infrastructures in southern Europe.
With this project, we move forward in building an infrastructure prepared to lead the new era of artificial intelligence in Europe, combining scale, sustainability, and operational reliability.
