OG Anunoby hoists the 2026 NBA Championship trophy in SKX Nexus basketball shoes – the first NBA champion to win it in Skechers.
“Skechers has been an exceptional partner on this journey,” said OG Anunoby, now a two-time NBA champion. “I feel like I’m part of the family after only a year together. They truly put care into building footwear that meets my needs. They know I often switch things up mid-game, so having a consistent flow of options helps keep me comfortable and confident on the court. Most meaningful was the ‘NYC Blue’ PE I wore during Game 4 that was a nod to the City, my team, and most importantly, the best fans anyone could ask for.”
“Skechers Basketball has been on the court for three seasons with a roster of players in the league – including superstar OG Anunoby,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. “A force to be reckoned with in the regular season, through the playoffs, and especially that heroic Game 4 finisher and key fourth quarter points, OG has driven awareness and excitement for Skechers Basketball and our position in this sport. Delivering a game that continues to surprise, OG embodies the spirit of not only Skechers Performance but the entire philosophy of Skechers as The Comfort Technology Company. It’s too early to share specific details, but we do have a signature shoe in the works. Anyone, anywhere who wants to play like OG knows they need Comfort That Performs.”
Throughout the playoffs and Finals, OG had fans talking about the Skechers Basketball exclusive Player Edition (PE) styles he wore on the court. Pairs that went viral included the SKX Nexus “Euro” PE that led to a social media exchange and eventual gifting of a signed pair to Knicks fan and Skechers ambassador Martha Stewart. OG also showed off an SKX Reign “Foreman” PE during warmups that honored his repeated Defensive Player of the Game honors, and in his legendary Game 4 performance he wore a SKX Nexus “NYC Blue” PE in bold blue and orange, an homage to his team’s monumental playoff run.
The two high-performance Skechers Basketball shoes worn by Anunoby reflect his dynamic playing style—strong, versatile, and always in control. The SKX Nexus™ is a low-top court shoe designed for speed, stability and support, offering exceptional comfort and responsiveness. Meanwhile, the SKX Reign™ focuses on promoting elevation and intense traction, helping Anunoby stay quick and locked in on both ends of the court.
Born in London, UK, Ogugua “OG” Anunoby grew up in Missouri from age four and excelled as a basketball phenom in high school. He was selected as a pre-season All-American by The Sporting News ahead of his freshman year at Indiana University. In 2017, he declared for the NBA draft, where he was selected 23rd overall by the Toronto Raptors. In 2019, the Raptors won the NBA championship, making Anunoby the first British-born basketball player to ever earn the title. He was traded to the New York Knicks at the end of 2023 and scored a career-high 40 points in a single game in November 2024. OG won his second NBA championship in 2026 with a career-high 20.1 points per game in the postseason. OG has also been named twice to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2023 and 2026).
Skechers is the #3 footwear brand in the world, and its footprint in basketball has grown rapidly since launching a basketball division in 2023. Along with OG, the brand has assembled an elite roster that includes NBA stars Isaiah Hartenstein, Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, Norman Powell, Terance Mann, Jabari Walker, and Josh Green; as well as WNBA standouts Rickea Jackson, Kiki Iriafen, and 2025 championship winner Jackie Young.
