Abridge, the AI-native clinician intelligence platform, has been selected to provide ambient AI under the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) enterprise contract through our distribution partner. The contract allows VA medical centers and regions across the country to bring Abridge to their clinicians as the agency modernizes how care is documented for Veterans. The multiple-award contract carries a total ceiling of $775.72 million over five years across all vendors who are eligible to compete for task orders.
Abridge’s platform is designed to support clinicians before, during, and after every patient conversation—from drafting clinical documentation to surfacing context-aware clinical insights. VA is undertaking one of the largest electronic health record transitions in history. Through a competitively awarded pilot, Abridge is fully operational on both systems today—VistA/CPRS and the Federal EHR—serving thousands of VA clinicians at more than 75 medical centers.

This year, Abridge will support more than 100 million patient-clinician conversations across more than 300 of the largest and most complex health systems in the U.S. At VA, Abridge is live in primary care, across a dozen specialties, and in Clinical Resource Hubs, VA's virtual care network. The platform is validated to support encounters in more than 28 languages across specialties and care settings.

Veteran care increasingly spans VA medical centers, community providers, and virtual settings. When documentation is clear and consistent, a Veteran doesn't have to retell their story at every visit, and their care stays connected wherever they're seen. Throughout the pilot, Abridge's deployment operated under VA security authorization, with Veteran data handled under VA's security controls.
