A Weekend of satisfaction, triumphs, and confirmations. Our Suomy Rider, Pecco Bagnaia, finishes third in the Sprint Race and dominates Sunday’s Race.

The Thai GP presented a challenging start for Francesco Bagnaia. An unoptimized setup initially prevented him from finding the right feeling to push, but a bold decision before the time attack session allowed him to secure fourth place and then claim pole position in qualifying. In the Sprint Race, Pecco achieved an impressive third place, while on Sunday he dominated the main event, earning valuable points. He remains second in the championship standings.

SPRINT RACE

Pecco secured pole position and set a new track record in Q2. However, during the Sprint Race, our Suomy Rider lost a couple of positions at the first corner of the opening lap. Although he managed to hold onto second place for over half of the race, he was overtaken by the championship leader with only seven laps remaining. Despite a determined effort to regain positions in the final lap, he couldn’t recover due to a speed disadvantage and closed the first race in third place.

RACE

Francesco Bagnaia and his Suomy S1-XR GP claimed a significant victory in the Thai Grand Prix at Chang International Circuit, held under wet track conditions.

Bagnaia made a strong start from pole position, defending against his competitors, all on Ducati bikes. From the thirteenth lap onward, the reigning world champion expertly managed his lead over the pursuing riders, crossing the finish line solo.

After the season’s eighteenth Grand Prix, Bagnaia remains second in the riders’ standings, trailing the leader by 17 points.

“The early part of the race was good, but then I lost one position and in the end we missed something to try and take a shot at Jorge. We’ll have to analyse the data as I didn’t feel comfortable with the front-end tyre; I was struggling under braking and, generally speaking, to make the best use of it – I had a hard time especially in sector three. The pace, however, was more or less equal to the other frontrunners. In any case we managed to finish third, although we lost two points, and we need to stay focused ahead of tomorrow’s race.”

“This morning, after the warm-up, I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t worried, though, because I knew we had the potential to do well, but we had to fix something in terms of bike behaviour under braking: we managed to do so, and I felt better straight away. When Jorge tried to pull away early on, I chose to wait a couple of laps as I had noticed that he was taking many risks. The battle with Marc (Márquez was really good and before his crash, we were really lapping at an incredible pace. I’d like to dedicate this win to the team, because as usual they have done a fantastic job.”
