This is not the first time that Ence has celebrated, on the stage of International Women’s Day, initiatives that make the female talent of the team visible. This year, the company has joined the initiatives promoted by the UN and other organisations with the celebration in Pontevedra and Santiago de Compostela, Navia, Huelva and Madrid of intergenerational meetings led by colleagues linked to the company for decades and who are an example of the commitment to equality of the organisation. Their testimony is added to that of new female incorporations, who have contributed their vision of the company and the challenges they have ahead.
A benchmark in the sector
At Ence, 27% of the team are women, a figure that represents three times the average of the sector, a percentage that has been sustained for three years. Other data that distinguishes Ence is having 30% of women in management positions and other key positions for the development of the energy and cellulose businesses. In addition, during 2024, 45% of new employees have been women with diverse profiles.
A society that is advancing in equality
According to the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), Spain remains the fourth most advanced country in gender equality within the European Union, behind only Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. In this scenario, companies such as Ence lead the way towards greater equality by establishing concrete examples of progress and commitment to gender diversity. The positive trend and ongoing initiatives are signs of a significant increase in the presence of women in the industrial sector.
