The Hoffmann Institute led INSEAD’s presence at the World Economic Forum in Davos for a workshop with Business Schools for Climate Leadership.
BS4CL with INSEAD representation hosted the workshop “From Campus to Boardroom: Aligning Academia and Industry in Building a Workforce for a Sustainable Future” through our partnership with InTent. The workshop was moderated by Andrew Jack and had participation from Dean Francisco Veloso.
In addition, Isabel Hoffmann MBA'23D, Alexander Hoffmann MBA'21D, Dean Francisco Veloso, and Katell. Le Goulven, PhD, Executive Director of the INSEAD Hoffmann Institute, hosted alumni get-together. This event spotlight how our alumni are driving positive impact against an ever-changing landscape. Professor Subramanian Rangan led a roundtable hosted by Tata Consultancy Services, and Dean Veloso gave insights in the Circularity Taskforce.
We published INSEAD’s 2023/2024 Sustainability Report
Covering the academic year 2023-2024, the Sustainability Report was compiled using international sustainability standards and frameworks: GRI, UN PRME, UNAI, all of which are then aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From integrating sustainability in all our core MBA courses, appointing our first Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion, to engaging over 3,700 participants in student-led events – learn about all the activities the school busy!
Astronaut and INSEAD Gemba graduate, Thomas Pesquet closed Les Conférences de INSEAD, with record participation.
Thomas Pesquet (GEMBA’25), astronaut for European Space Agency and veteran of two missions to the International Space Agency, discussed “Can space teach us how to live better together on Earth?” He recounted life aboard the space station, photos of Earth as seen from space and him working as astronaut suspended on a 17-meter robotic arm.
With over 1,000 participants joining live and broadcast across multiple amphitheatres and online, this was a record participation. Hoffmann Institute Director, Vinika Rao partnered to write about religious sisters who are transforming charities into sustainable social enterprises in Africa. The article Empowering Africa's Social Enterprises for Lasting Change was co-written David Mathuva and Angela Ndunge, Strathmore University Business School.
Dean Francisco Veloso, Dean of Faculty Peter Joos, and Katell. Le Goulven, PhD, Executive Director of the INSEAD Hoffmann Institute examined the Five Global Trends in Business and Society in 2025. For the fourth year in a row, we surveyed our faculty to capture their insights. This year, 64 professors from all nine academic areas shared their perspectives about global trends and the biggest risks and opportunities for business in 2025.
We hosted a book launch for “The New Nature of Business: The Path to Prosperity and Sustainability” by Andre Hoffmann (MBA’90D) on our Asia campus.
'The New Nature of Business: The Path to Prosperity and Sustainability', by André Hoffmann (MBA’90D), patron of the Hoffmann Institute, co-authored with Peter Vanham highlights three key messages:
Make nature count on the balance sheet.
Ensure all capitals are accounted for (social, human, environmental and financial).
Courageous leadership.
Andre took part in a fireside interview with journalist Michelle Martin. This was followed by a panel discussion with INSEAD alumnae Michelle Cheo (MBA'04D), Christina Law (MBA'91D), INSEAD Deputy Dean Peter Joos and Andre Hoffmann, moderated by Katell. Le Goulven, PhD explored the practical realities of business transformation in Asia. The day rounded off with a reception and book signing.
The day also included an off- campus Family Business Network (FBN) Asia exchange, where family business leaders shared their sustainability efforts as well as talks between PhD students and faculty. Katell Le Goulven delivered the session "Foresight for systems change" during the inaugural conference of Shape the Future Consortium.
‘Sustainability is a long-term priority for corporates’ was the key message of the inaugural conference of Shape the Future Consortium gathering 30 plus Chief Learning Officers from large corporate organisations. Hosted by INSEAD the group explored trends on leadership, sustainability, skills, and AI to shape the future of corporate learning. This initiative is led by Kimo Kippen and Dr. Nigel Paine.
We supported the ‘Global Mental Health in Asia 2025’ Symposium in Singapore
The INSEAD Asia Campus, as well as SingHealth Academia and the National Cancer Centre Singapore, hosted 70 expert speakers and 350 mental health practitioners and advocates from across the continent to discuss Mental Well-Being at work and in the community, with a focus on Asia. Dr Vinika Rao, (Director, INSEAD Hoffmann Institute & Africa Initiative) gave a workshop on Diversity & Inclusion implications of Mental Wellness. The workshop explored the demographic and cognitive inequalities that disproportionately exacerbate mental ill health. Special attention was paid to regional differences in the recognition of causes for mental ill-health, the associated stigma and the evolving trends in management, mitigation and treatment. This year’s edition of the MiM Climate Run had 120+ signups, 2000+ km covered through running, walking and cycling around the world and there were two speaker events featuring Georgina Grenon (INSEAD MBA’99J) Director of Environmental Excellence at the Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024, who presented the achievements her team realised over the games. 'Health Week' was held on our Europe campus in January. From sports events, ice baths to 'Lunch and Learn' sessions 150 students took part and renewed commitment to their own personal wellness journeys. It was a week of growth and reflection. Read more here.
On Saturday, February 1st, we hosted a unique event that brought together music and leadership in an interactive workshop and live concert. Organized by MIM student and EUYO cellist Pietro Scimemi. The event, with live demonstrations, explored how the principles of chamber music—collaboration, adaptability, and shared leadership—mirror the dynamics of high-performing teams in business and society. For the 7th consecutive year, INSEAD is thrilled to join the ChangeNOW Summit as its Academic Partner, leveraging knowledge, expertise, and resources to drive meaningful impact. This year the INSEAD Hoffmann Institute, in partnership with the INSEAD Africa Initiative, will host an Impact Entrepreneurship Forum titled: “Impact Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies: Building Inclusive Futures.”
