Brussels, Thursday 19 June 2025 – The European Open (12-19 October 2025) adds another resounding name to the list of participants. With the arrival of top Canadian player Félix Auger-Aliassime (ATP-29), former winner and former world number 6, Belgium’s biggest tournament underlines its ambitions. The list of top players who will compete in Brussels grows further with this announcement. Lorenzo Musetti (ATP-7), recently semi-finalist at Roland Garros, and our national stars David Goffin (ATP-52) and Zizou Bergs (ATP-63) have already confirmed their presence.

This year, the European Open will be hosted for the first time in Palace 12 at Brussels Expo. The tenth anniversary will thus not only be celebrated with a new venue; the list of participants also looks very impressive. Ticket sales confirm that enthusiasm and the arrival of former winner Félix Auger-Aliassime will no doubt further fuel that interest.

The 24-year-old Auger-Aliassime (ATP-29) already took the title once in 2022, beating American Sebastian Korda (ATP-23) in the final. The Canadian also impressed at last year’s European Open, with a hard-fought quarterfinal against Spaniard and later winner Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP-50). In three sets, including a decisive tiebreak, he had to acknowledge his superiority, but was mostly able to enthral the crowd with remarkable and powerful tennis.

Auger-Aliassime (ATP-29) has already proven his confidence and form, especially on hard courts, this year. Earlier this year, for instance, he won the ATP 250 tournament in Montpellier, France, and a few weeks later he reached the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai. After an impressive run with wins against Bublik (ATP-43) and Borges (ATP-38), among others, he narrowly lost to Greek Stéfanos Tsitsipás (ATP-11) in the final.

Félix Auger-Aliassime (ATP-24) has been known as a talented player for years. He made his professional debut in 2017 and, in addition to numerous finals, he also achieved seven ATP victories, including thus the 2022 European Open. In 2022, he also stunted with a semi-final at the US Open, to date his highest ranking at a Grand Slam.

With top names such as Lorenzo Musetti (ATP-7, Roland Garros semi-finalist), David Goffin (ATP-52, former number 7), Zizou Bergs (ATP-63, recent finalist of the Libéma Open) and now Félix Auger-Aliassime (ATP-29), the European Open once again gains extra charisma and immediately confirms its status as a premium tournament on the tennis calendar.
