The Hopman Cup made its debut in Italy yesterday with a perfect opening day: a win for Team Italy, packed stands, and a taste of local tradition!
The morning began with Flavio Cobolli, Donna Vekic, and Stefanos Tsitsipas joining media day at Ristorante Polvere di Stelle, atop the scenic rooftop of the Hotel Gran Albergo delle Nazioni. With stunning views over Bari, the players tried their hand at making Puglia’s iconic orecchiette pasta during a fun express masterclass.
Between laughs and dough shaping, they also took time to meet with the press and conduct interviews with the many media outlets present.
Later in the day, the action shifted to the court at the Fiera del Levante. With a full house and roaring home support, Team Italy kicked off their campaign with three thrilling, closely contested matches—culminating in a big win over defending champions Croatia.
