World Water Day: How Autoneum Helps Protect Water Resources

Most of Autoneum’s manufacturing processes use little water, primarily for cooling, steam generation, and water‑jet cutting, while our products contain negligible amounts of water as a raw material. However, responsible water management remains a top priority, as it supports manufacturing excellence, risk reduction, and long‑term corporate responsibility.

To help protect shared water resources and support sustainable industrial development, Autoneum implements early leak detection, steam optimization, and other targeted improvements at our sites worldwide.

These efforts deliver measurable results. In 2025, Autoneum reduced absolute water withdrawal by 69,730 m³, representing an 8.7% reduction compared to the previous year and a 40.2% reduction compared to the 2019 baseline. As a result, Autoneum achieved its 2027 water‑reduction target of 10% ahead of schedule.

On World Water Day, Autoneum reaffirms its commitment to using water responsibly in collaboration with our suppliers, customers, and local communities–protecting a vital shared resource for future generations.
