Full support for NotchLC encoding is now available in Mistika VR, Mistika Workflows and Mistika Boutique. Supported on Windows and macOS systems, this major advancement offers Mistika users the possibility to handle their entire production pipeline within the application, eliminating the need for intermediate renders.
Introducing NotchLC into the Mistika Universe
NotchLC has been established as the industry standard format for delivering content in virtual production sets. Until now, users faced a complex and time-intensive workflow where content had to be created and refined within Mistika, rendered as an intermediate file, and converted to NotchLC using a separate solution. For high-resolution virtual production assets, this often meant double rendering for even the smallest adjustments—an inefficient process that slowed down creative workflows.
With the addition of native NotchLC support across all Mistika tools, users can now produce, refine, and render content directly within the software, eliminating the need for intermediate renders. This major update covers the entire immersive content creation workflow for Virtual Production and other end-to-end platforms; it provides support for a standard format optimized in Mistika for rendering immersive content, improves integration with workflows involving other applications such as Pixera or Disguise, and opens up a world of possibilities for automating the process and combining rendering with other tasks,” said Adrián González, Creative Solutions Architect at SGO
For professionals in high-end production environments, this pivotal update represents an extraordinary leap forward – delivering enhanced speed, greater flexibility, and a streamlined rendering pipeline that empowers creators to focus on bringing their vision to life.
