On 23 May, a new episode of #Countdown – Dallo Spazio alla Terra, the Sky TG24 programme hosted by Emilio Cozzi and #MartaMeli, was focused on the technologies connecting Earth and space and their role in supporting the safety and future of humanity.
During the programme, Roberto Aceti, CEO of OHB Italia S.p.A., provided insights into two of the most significant European space initiatives currently underway: the #Ramses mission and the IRIDE Spazio constellation.
Ramses represents one of the most advanced planetary defence missions currently on-going, aimed at closely studying the asteroid #Apophis and contributing to the enhancement of capabilities designed to protect Earth from potential asteroid threats.
IRIDE is the most important Italian #EarthObservation constellation, as well as one of the largest in Europe, for which 16 out of the planned 24 Eaglet II satellites have already been successfully launched into orbit.
Our satellites are designed to deliver high-resolution imagery with high revisit capability and increased responsiveness, supporting both the monitoring of key phenomena and the rapid delivery of data to institutional and commercial users.
The participation of Roberto Aceti in Countdown provided an important opportunity to present OHB Italia S.p.A.‘s contribution to the development of advanced space technologies supporting safety, knowledge, sustainability and Europe’s future in space.
