The company, which has surpassed €187 million in revenue, celebrates this milestone during a festive event attended by the Catalan Minister for Business and Labour, Miquel Sàmper, as well as its employees and their families.

June 6, 2026, Riudellots de la Selva – Comexi, one of the leading industrial companies in the province of Girona and a global leader in flexible packaging machinery, officially inaugurated the expansion of its facilities at the Girona Industrial Park (Riudellots de la Selva) on Saturday, June 6.

This inauguration marks the successful completion of an expansion of nearly 5,000 m², bringing the company’s total production space in Riudellots de la Selva to 25,000 m² dedicated to technological manufacturing and increasing its production capacity by more than 40%. This investment reaffirms the company’s commitment to Catalonia’s industrial growth, its global leadership in packaging machinery manufacturing, and the transformation of the industry towards a more sustainable and circular economy.

Strong Institutional Support for an Industrial Leader

The official ceremony received strong political and business support, led by the Catalan Minister for Business and Labour, Miquel Sàmper i Rodríguez, accompanied by the Mayor of Riudellots de la Selva, Josep Lluís Santamaria, the President of the Girona Provincial Council, Miquel Noguer i Planas, and other authorities, as well as a broad representation of Catalonia’s business community.

During the tour of the new facilities, attendees were able to see firsthand the modernization of the spaces designed to optimize production processes and strengthen the company’s R&D+i division.

In the words of the Catalan Minister for Business and Labour, Miquel Sàmper:

“Comexi has successfully built an international leadership position in a highly specialized industry, exporting not only products but also technology, knowledge, and talent to more than one hundred countries. Catalonia needs companies that understand innovation is not an option, but an essential condition for leading global markets. From the Government, we are convinced that the best industrial policy is one that helps companies grow, innovate, internationalize, and generate added value.”

For his part, Mr. Pau Xifra, President of Comexi, stated:

“The expansion we are inaugurating today in Riudellots de la Selva marks a new strategic chapter for Comexi, coinciding with our generational transition. This investment reinforces our global leadership in the packaging industry and our commitment to Catalonia’s industrial sector as a driver of stable, highly skilled employment. The new industrial facility will enable us to bring together the engineering and operations teams of our three divisions under one roof and strengthen our R&D efforts, driven by excellence and continuous innovation to stay one step ahead.”

With annual revenues of €187 million and a workforce of more than 600 employees, the Girona-based multinational reaffirms its position as a key player in the global market, with a presence in more than 100 countries. In addition to its facilities in Riudellots de la Selva, the company operates its own centers in Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Thailand.

A Celebration Shared with Employees and Their Families

Beyond its business performance and macroeconomic impact, Saturday’s event had a strong human dimension. Alongside the official inauguration, Comexi opened its doors for a celebration filled with joy, bringing together the families of its employees, whose commitment and dedication are an integral part of the company’s success.

The company’s management emphasized the importance of sharing this achievement with the people who, through their daily dedication, effort, and support, make the company’s growth possible.
