Mazzoleni is delighted to share that Rebecca Moccia is participating in Una Boccata d’Arte 2026 with the project Anche noi (Radical Nostalgia), presented in the village of Cusano Mutri. The title draws inspiration from the local saying “If all goes well, we too shall grow old”, and reflects on the critical, political, and poetic potential of nostalgia in shaping the future.
Developed across the new Town Hall and the Municipal Library, the project unfolds through a series of gestures that activate processes centred on nostalgia as a generative force. Rather than turning backwards, nostalgia is explored as a means to imagine unaligned futures, alternative spaces of encounter, and new forms of community.
The work shifts attention towards the field of micro narratives that compose, sustain, and ultimately make possible grand narratives. Many of the artistic gestures take shape from materials recovered locally, gathered with the community, or developed in response to encounters and relationships formed over time. These include flowers collected after the local Infiorata festival, as well as sculptural forms that translate a chart mapping the town’s demographic trends.
For Rebecca Moccia, nostalgia becomes radical when it opens onto micro rituals that create spaces of divergence from the late capitalist model, where the notion of progress is increasingly associated with the erosion of community, human relationships, and ecological balance. Through these gestures, Anche noi proposes a shared reflection on how collective memory and local knowledge can contribute to imagining more sustainable and inclusive futures.
