From 16 July to 6 September 2026, the first edition of Bienal Del Agua, The Traces of Water will take place in Cascais, Portugal, opening to the public on 18 July.
Conceived as an international multidisciplinary platform, the Biennial brings together artistic, technological, social, academic and humanitarian perspectives, creating a space for dialogue between artists, scientists, researchers, activists and citizens. Its aim is to foster greater ecological awareness and contribute to the development of sustainable models for water management.
Among the artists selected by curator Demetrio Paparoni for the exhibition at the Estoril Congress Center are Melissa McGill and Massimo Vitali.
As highlighted by the Biennial’s Director, Consuelo Ciscar, the initiative seeks to encourage cross-sector collaboration and international dialogue around one of the most urgent issues of our time, reinforcing the role of culture and creativity in shaping a more sustainable future.
