Advocacy, the first context-driven AI platform for litigation, today released Promptless, a major expansion of its matter-centric technology that delivers AI support to litigation teams proactively—without prompting—while also giving a new level of primacy to human judgment in an AI litigation platform.
Built on Advocacy’s existing document review, drafting, and collaboration features, Promptless eliminates the need for litigators to start AI-assisted work with a painstakingly written prompt. Instead, Promptless independently proposes tasks when a document production arrives, opposing counsel sends a letter, or a deadline approaches. Informed by connections with the team’s documents, email, calendars, dockets, and a growing list of other sources, Promptless prepares work from the litigators’ deep and most current understanding of the case.

It reasons from the team’s arguments, strategy, and understanding of the evidence—an approach that Advocacy calls “authored intelligence.” Every action Promptless takes stays unconfirmed until an attorney accepts it, and afterward it leaves an audit trail of human and AI contributions to any given task.
Among other actions, Promptless will:
- Read and classify documents on arrival, continually check them against the team’s live understanding of the case, and surfacing contradictions without prompting, while re-reading documents as the case theory develops;
- Conduct multi-step research, including on public sources such as EDGAR, and return sourced memoranda or other requested work product;
- Prepare outlines, first drafts, and edits for attorney review after being assigned the task or independently identifying it as being needed; and
- Calculate deadlines from docket entries, showing the governing rule and the arithmetic for review.

Project and task management
Promptless brings project and task management to the matter-centric platform. Attorneys, paralegals, litigation support professionals, and other specialists can be brought into a matter through the projects and tasks for which they are responsible. Teams can limit access to only the portions of a project and case information any professional needs.
Login-less work
With Promptless, a partner can work directly from an email thread—delegating research, commenting on a draft, or approving a next step—rather than through Advocacy. Likewise, while chat remains available, it is no longer a required starting point.
Traceability to human judgment
Promptless does not just track who approved a finished draft or cite the documents that support it. It traces its work to the team’s approved reading of the source material: what a document was understood to establish, who adopted and directed that interpretation, and how it informed the work. Promptless can and will suggest a new interpretation of evidence or flag conflicting facts; its proposal does not become part of the case, however, without attorney approval.
Human-set boundaries on AI
Promptless is model-agnostic, allowing firms to bring their own model. Teams decide what work their AI is authorized to do, where approval is required, and what work stays exclusively human. A firm can require outline approval before drafting, reserve an argument section for a lawyer, and limit what the AI is allowed to see. Different matters and clients can have different boundaries.
Additionally, partners can see how work is divided by the team and AI, what each contributor added, and whose judgments directed the work. General counsel, insurers, and litigation funders can also be given access to designated portions of the matter.
Pricing
In connection with the release of Promptless, Advocacy is also introducing a new pricing model. Firms can now open a matter for a nominal fee and pay on an à la carte basis for AI-generated contributions they accept into their matters. This model ties the pricing of Advocacy directly to the value to it contributes to a litigation matter.
