My name is Federico Muzzulini, and today I want to share with you my professional and personal journey at Italtel, a journey that began two decades ago. I graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Sapienza University of Rome, and over the years I have enriched my education with a specialisation course in Sales Management at SDA Bocconi. Before joining Italtel, I worked as ICT Manager, Operation & Technology Manager and Business Developer, but something attracted me to this company ever since I was a student.

A dream realised

I still remember my first day, when I walked through the gates of the historical headquarters in Settimo Milanese. I was excited, fascinated by the company’s history and its reputation as a leader in the telecommunications sector. Even at university, I had heard about Italtel’s successes and the managerial skills of iconic figures like Marisa Bellisario. Becoming part of this reality was a dream come true.

First steps in a dynamic environment

Right from the start I felt welcomed by a dynamic group, which gave me the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects. Coming from medium-sized companies, joining Italtel was an important step. I started as a Business Developer and later as a Key Account Manager. My technical background allowed me to fully understand the needs of customers and to develop effective solutions, turning critical issues into new opportunities.

The Role of the Key Account Manager

Today, as Key Account Manager, my role goes far beyond simply managing customer relations. I work closely with different departments within the company to ensure that the solutions proposed meet the specific needs of customers. The ability to listen and understand customers’ needs is a skill I have developed over time and has allowed me to create an environment of trust and collaboration. For example, in the recent Global SBC project, I had the opportunity to put these skills to use, working together with colleagues and customers to achieve a successful outcome, based on Italtel’s portfolio of offerings. The project combines several Italtel products, including Session Border Controller, Routing & Policy Server and WebRTC, to support our customers in managing their user interactions, optimising costs without compromising performance.

Reconciling work and private life: a key issue

But there is an even more personal aspect I would like to share: the work-life balance. Working at Italtel has taught me how to deal with daily challenges, not only on a professional but also on a personal level. The company culture values people’s well-being, encouraging a collaborative and inclusive work environment. This focus has allowed me to grow, both as a professional and as an individual. Today, also thanks to the flexibility and support of the company, I am able to reconcile my work commitments with my private life, dedicating precious time to my family.

Continuous growth in an innovative environment

Over the years, my experience at Italtel has been characterised by constant growth and the development of new skills. The company constantly invests in innovation, and this has allowed me to expand my technical knowledge and hone my consulting skills. Working in such a dynamic environment has given me the enthusiasm and energy to take on new challenges.

Advice to new colleagues

To those entering Italtel today, I would like to give one piece of advice: be open to new ideas and technologies. Do not be afraid to propose innovative solutions because this is a company that values innovation. Build strong relationships with colleagues and customers; take the time to get to know the people you work with and create an environment of collaboration and trust. Italtel offers many opportunities for training and professional development: take advantage of them to expand your skills and stay abreast of the latest industry trends. And finally, always keep a positive attitude, because it can really make a difference.
