From Nov. 19 to 21, Bologna Fiere is hosting the 34th edition of Ambiente Lavoro, a trade show on health and safety in the workplace, issues with respect to which technology can make an important contribution.
In this context, Comau can meet visitors at its booth (Hall 22, Stand C7).
This will be a unique opportunity to discover all of Comau’s innovative wearable robotics solutions: from the MATE-XT upper limb exoskeleton, developed to reduce the muscular load on the shoulders during repetitive activities that require keeping the arms raised for long periods of time, to the new MATE-XB model, designed to relieve muscle fatigue in the lumbar area in static positions and when lifting loads from the ground.
Over the course of the three-day expo, industry professionals have the opportunity to understand how to best use Comau exoskeletons and what the benefits are in terms of ergonomics and physical-muscular well-being by personally wearing and testing all MATE devices with the support and advice of the Comau team.
The fair is also an opportunity to delve into some issues related to wearable robotics: Andrea Parri, field validation specialist of IUVO (a spin-off of the Institute of Bio Robotics of the Sant’Anna University of Pisa in which Comau holds a majority stake), is one of the speakers at the conference taking place on Tuesday, November 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Melodia Room – Service Center Block B – 1st floor with a presentation entitled “From validation to guided adoptions: the evolution of validation strategies for occupational exoskeletons in the field.”
During the presentation, the way in which Comau, in collaboration with IUVO, in addition to the development of exoskeleton technologies, intercepted the emerging needs following the launch of these products on the market in order to design services to facilitate the insertion of these technologies in industrial realities in order to consolidate their use in the long term and thus allow companies to capitalize on their return on investment is illustrated.
These services helped define the contents of the new TR 11950 standard on safety and health in the use of occupational exoskeletons and are evolving to accommodate the new needs and challenges posed by the occupational exoskeleton market.
