Barcelona hosted, on January 9th, the latest meeting of the Corporate Committee of Startup Valencia, a key forum for fostering collaboration among major national corporations linked to the association and the broader innovation and technology ecosystem.
The event kicked off at HP’s facilities, where attendees were welcomed by the company’s leadership team. Daniel Martínez, Global Head and General Manager of HP Spain, opened the meeting with a brief introduction to the multinational company before handing over to Paula Comes, Strategy Director of HP Spain. She showcased the company’s innovation initiatives, highlighting the impact of its strategic programs and presenting its most advanced technological solutions in the Demo Center and HP 3D factory. Additionally, the Startup Valencia team seized the opportunity to share updates from the association, strengthening ties with the participating companies.
Following a networking lunch among committee members, the group moved to the iconic Pier 01, home to Damm, located in the heart of Barcelona’s technology district. There, attendees were introduced to Damm’s open innovation strategy by Jordi Torrent, Open Innovation Manager at Damm. His presentation emphasized collaboration with startups and the pursuit of disruptive solutions to enhance the company’s market position.
Building on previous meetings held in Madrid and Valencia, this third Corporate Committee visit brought together prominent corporate professionals, including Yolanda Pérez and Edurne Álvarez from BStartup; Marta Antúnez from Wayra; Rosa Sánchez and Xavier Fabregat from Banco Santander; Diana Ortega from Elewit; Gemma Beltrán from CaixaBank DayOne; David Gaston and Roberto Sarasa from HP; and Ángela Castelló, and Karina Virrueta from Startup Valencia.
This working group of Startup Valencia serves as a catalyst for strategic alliances between corporations and startups, generating opportunities for joint innovation and strengthening the national business ecosystem. The collaboration and synergies fostered in this context are vital in positioning the Valencian Community as an international benchmark for innovation and entrepreneurship.
