Space isn’t just about exploration: it’s also about dialogue, collaboration, and shared progress.
At the Genesis Science Workshop 2025, hosted by the European Space Agency – ESA in Matera, #DaniloMorea, CTO&Genesis PM, represented OHB Italia S.p.A. as Prime Contractor of the mission.
Together with our partner, Antwerp Space, he delivered the joint presentation “Genesis Industrial Update”, providing insights into the current status and progress of the mission from an industrial perspective. Our Company will be responsible for the project management, the system engineering coordination, the construction of the Ground Segment and for the procurement of launch services, as well as for two years of satellite operation.
Genesis, by co-locating all four #geodetictechniques on the same satellite and with properly calibrated and synchronized instruments, will give results on Earth’s measurements that have never been seen before. The mission will provide scientific and social benefits across a multidisciplinary range of navigation and Earth science applications, creating a global infrastructure that is highly desirable internationally.
The workshop was a valuable opportunity to bring together scientific and industrial viewpoints in preparation for the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), scheduled for the second half of 2025.
