As part of its growing commitment to Africa, UNIMED is proud to be a partner in the newly launched “Critical Virtual Exchange in Artificial Intelligence” – CVEinAI project, a three-year project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

CVEinAI deepens UNIMED’s engagement in Africa by strengthening connections between Sub-Saharan African and European Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), to promote responsible and inclusive approaches to AI.

Led by the University of Padova, the CVEinAI project gathers a consortium of 8 full partners: UNICollaboration, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Mediterranean Universities Union – UNIMED, from Europe and University of Botswana, Adama Science and Technology University, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, and Maseno University respectively from Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya

These institutions will implement the Critical Virtual Exchange (CVE) methodology to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, offer virtual exchange opportunities and facilitation trainings, and deliver upskilling workshops to 2,500 students and 50 educators. The engagement of 13 associated partners from all across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa will contribute to disseminate and strengthen the impact of the project.

Through this collective effort, CVEinAI aspires to shape a new generation of students and educators who are not only technologically proficient but also ethically conscious and globally connected.
