The deadline to apply for the VDS Startup Competition 2025 is June 27. This call, driven by Startup Valencia as part of VDS, aims to identify the most innovative and high-potential startups in the global ecosystem. A unique opportunity for those striving to make a difference.

With less than a month to go, all signs suggest that last year’s figures will be surpassed. In 2024, over 800 applications from 65 countries competed for a spot in the Top 50. That year, 71% of the selected startups were international, with 18% from the United States, 10% from the United Kingdom, and a strong presence from Germany and France. Artificial intelligence was the most represented technology, followed by big data, cloud computing, ICT, blockchain, and the Internet of Things.

Many finalists were focused on software development, but there was also strong representation from fintech, insurtech, cleantech, energy, sustainability, health, wellness, medtech, mobile applications, and enterprise solutions. The international jury awarded the top prizes to HULO.ai from the Netherlands and Smart Point from Spain, further cementing the prestige of the competition.

Becoming part of VDS history

Being among the VDS finalists has become a coveted distinction. Taking part means international visibility, direct access to key investors, and the chance to accelerate your growth in one of the most prominent innovation environments.

Startups interested in becoming part of this story and taking a decisive step toward consolidation still have time to submit their application by clicking here.

The competition features two categories. The Early Stage Track is aimed at bootstrapped startups or those with funding up to Series A, founded between 2020 and 2025, and with fewer than 50 employees. The Growth Stage Track targets startups with funding between Series A and C, founded between 2010 and 2025, and with fewer than 100 employees. In both cases, startups must focus on the development or commercialization of software or hardware products.

The 50 semifinalist startups will be announced on July 4, 2025. The 10 finalists—five per category—will pitch live on the main stage at VDS 2025, held on October 22–23 at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, in front of a jury composed of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. The two winners will receive international exposure, coverage in top-tier media outlets, exclusive interviews, and a dedicated exhibition space at VDS 2026.

Projects will be evaluated based on uniqueness, scalability, feasibility, team, and innovation.

If your startup is developing solutions with the power to transform industries and generate a positive impact on society, this is your moment. You have until June 27 to apply.
