Tuscany Region is preparing to conquer EXPO 2025 Osaka with a week of “Tuscany. Renaissance without End”
Cradle of the Renaissance and land of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei and Brunelleschi, Tuscany is not only synonymous with beauty, art and tradition, but represents a territory that has always been projected toward the future thanks to its extraordinary capacity to innovate and create.
For this reason, at the center of the Expo presence, the exhibition “Tuscan Genius, creativity beyond space and time” celebrates the excellence of Tuscan manufacturing heritage through iconic objects that have made the history of world design:
Ferragamo presents the Rainbow model from 1938, created by Salvatore Ferragamo for Judy Garland. The cork wedge represents one of the most significant inventions of the master shoemaker, combining functionality and distinctive chromatic richness.
Poltronova exhibits the iconic Ultrafragola, a mirror-lamp from the ’70s designed by Ettore Sottsass jr. A revolutionary object from the “Gray Furniture” series that today furnishes the homes of international celebrities.
Piaggio tells the legend of the Vespa, a timeless symbol of style and elegance that has revolutionized global mobility. The name derives from its resemblance to the insect, both in form and sound.
Edra presents Getsuen, the result of collaboration with Japanese master Masanori Umeda. An armchair that unites Tuscan and Japanese spirit, combining artistic tradition and technological research.
Bitossi shows the Rimini blue from Aldo Londi’s collection, characterized by incised marks like cuneiform alphabet and animal figures that tell millennial stories.
Ginori 1735 exhibits the Flowering Hand in precious white porcelain, designed by Gio Ponti in the ’30s. Each flower and leaf is meticulously crafted and applied by hand.
Cooperativa Artieri of Volterra presents luminous alabaster vases, an ancient material formed 6 million years ago that made Volterra famous as the “Golden Hill.”
Orodautore shows Giuseppe Antonello Leone’s sketch for the gold leaf sculpture, a tribute to Piero della Francesca created in 2007.
Unoaerre presents the rice grain bracelet, a contemporary reinterpretation of a 1940s model that embodies the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
Museo del Tessuto di Prato tells the story of excellence in regenerated textiles, symbol of sustainability of the Prato district famous since the dawn of the 20th century for regenerated wool.
Each object tells a story of intuition, talent and artisanal mastery that knew how to anticipate tastes and needs, transforming ideas into timeless icons. Products born from the deep bond between businesses and territory, where tradition and innovation merge creating excellence recognized worldwide.
Tuscany in Osaka will be a journey through the values that have characterized the Region’s production for centuries: intuitive capacity, wisdom derived from centuries of experience, creative ability and attention to profound beauty. From fashion to mechanics, from craftsmanship to design, from ceramics to jewelry, Tuscany will tell the essence of Made in Tuscany that continues to shape the future of our lives.
A unique opportunity to discover how Tuscan genius continues to write tomorrow, always placing at the center the value of human beings and interpersonal relationships in harmony with the environment.
