THERMAL DESIGN FOR A CHANGING PLANET: OHB Italia S.p.A. at #ICES

OHB Italia took part to the International Conference on Environmental Systems (ICES), held in Prague from 13th to 17th July.
Our colleague D. Rizzo presented four technical #papers focused on the #thermaldesignand #calibrationstrategies of advanced microwave radiometers, essential instruments for Earth observation missions like #CIMR (Copernicus Imaging Microwave Radiometer) and #MWI (Microwave Imager for MetOp-SG).
His work covered key challenges and innovative solutions for:
- Ensuring stable temperatures in rotating payloads like CIMR
- Designing precise calibration systems for accurate atmospheric data
- Developing methods to compute brightness temperature
- Validating performance through complex thermal-vacuum testing setups
These contributions strengthen our Company’s role in supporting European space missions to protect our planet.
