A demanding weekend for Suomy Rider Pecco Bagnaia, who once again showcased his grit and determination. From 21st on Friday to 7th on Sunday. Well done Pecco!

The 2025 season is proving to be one of the toughest for Francesco Bagnaia: a year marked by challenges, setbacks, and relentless effort, but also by valuable achievements that underline his resilience. The Catalan GP perfectly embodied this narrative: after a difficult start with 21st place in practice, Bagnaia remained calm and worked his way up to an impressive seventh place in Sunday’s race.

SPRINT RACE

Bagnaia’s history at Barcelona has always been eventful: a victory in 2024, crashes in 2022 and 2023, and top-ten finishes in 2020 and 2021. Despite a lack of feeling with the GP25 during practice, which left him at the back of the grid, Pecco stayed focused. Thanks to a smart ride and the misfortune of others, he managed to climb to 14th place. While far from satisfying, it was still a small step forward given the circumstances.

RACE

On Sunday, Bagnaia delivered one of the best comebacks of the weekend. Starting from 21st, he gained nine positions off the line and quickly found a strong rhythm thanks to changes made to the bike before the warm-up. With several rivals crashing out, Pecco held his ground to secure seventh place – a result that, compared to his starting position, carries great significance. Once again, Bagnaia showed his ability to manage pressure and remain composed, turning a challenging weekend into a positive outcome.

MOTO 2

In Moto2, Suomy Rider Ivàn Ortolà started 16th and fought his way up to 11th place, narrowly missing out on the points zone. For Ivàn, this was his 75th Grand Prix start, and he now sits 17th in the 2025 Moto2 standings.

“We’re continuing to work and to test new solutions. This has been one of the most challenging weekends of the season so far, especially compared to Balaton Park – which was a new track – where I won last year and was very quick. The important thing is to stay together and continue working in order to find the right direction.”

“Today’s result was the best possible one: if we consider the 21st place on the grid, it was difficult to imagine that I would have done better than seventh. It’s true that, had I had this type of pace already on Friday or Saturday, maybe I would have been quicker today, but this is the situation and we must focus on the next event, knowing that we can do it and working as usual. Yesterday we made some adjustments to the bike and I was feeling better in this morning’s warm up, so much so that I ended up fifth quickest. The feeling was better also in the race. Now we need to keep calm and see how the next races will be like.”
