Catalogo “Nicoletta Borroni. Pittura Strutturale”
Ho avuto il piacere e l’onore di fotografare le opere dell’artista Nicoletta Borroni in occasione della mostra “Nicoletta Borroni. Pittura Strutturale”, a cura di Alberto Barranco di Valdivieso, presso la Galleria Monopoli di Milano (19 marzo – 3 maggio 2025).
Le fotografie che ho realizzato sono state utilizzate per il catalogo ufficiale della mostra.
Documentare un progetto espositivo così coerente e strutturato è sempre un’opportunità stimolante: mi permette di entrare in contatto con il linguaggio pittorico dell’artista e di costruire un racconto visivo che ne rispetti il pensiero e la poetica.
Il mio obiettivo, attraverso la luce e la composizione, è stato valorizzare l’opera restando fedele al suo messaggio e alla sua presenza nello spazio. In questa occasione ho prediletto una luce quasi architettonica per mettere in evidenza il valore plastico e scultoreo delle opere della Borroni.
Scrive il curatore Alberto Barranco di Valdivieso:
“La ricerca di Borroni esprime non solo fiducia nella pittura, non solo interesse nel volume plastico ma asserisce che questi due elementi, pittura e volume, possano, debbano agire in sincrono […] per esprimere solidi valori intrinsechi alla gestalt.”
I had the pleasure and honour of photographing the works of artist Nicoletta Borroni for the exhibition “Nicoletta Borroni. Pittura Strutturale” (Structural Painting), curated by Alberto Barranco di Valdivieso, at the Galleria Monopoli in Milan (19 March – 3 May 2025).
The photographs I took were used for the official exhibition catalogue.
Documenting such a coherent and structured exhibition project is always a stimulating opportunity: it allows me to get in touch with the artist’s pictorial language and to construct a visual narrative that respects her thinking and poetics.
My goal, through light and composition, was to enhance the work while remaining faithful to its message and its presence in space. On this occasion, I favoured an almost architectural light to highlight the plastic and sculptural value of Borroni’s works.
Curator Alberto Barranco di Valdivieso writes:
‘Borroni’s research expresses not only confidence in painting and interest in plastic volume, but also asserts that these two elements, painting and volume, can and must act in sync […] to express solid values intrinsic to the gestalt.’
