Workers represented by CUPE 2269 have been locked out by the District of Squamish. The lockout took effect at 6 a.m this morning, indefinitely stopping public services except those deemed essential as per the Essential Services Order in place.
Union members and leadership will gather in front of Squamish Municipal Hall to speak with media and share how this employer decision impacts both workers and the community. A solidarity rally in support of workers will follow.
