VDS 2025 has reaffirmed its position as the global platform for addressing the technological challenges facing society today. The international tech ecosystem has gathered in Valencia for the eighth edition of this leading event to demonstrate how collaboration and innovation can provide tangible solutions to pressing global issues such as climate change, AI regulation and implementation, sustainability, cybersecurity, and defense.
As Juan Luis Hortelano, President of Startup Valencia, stated, VDS 2025 has truly embodied its motto, “Collaborate Today. Transform Tomorrow,” showcasing how cooperation and innovation can have a real impact on people’s lives and their environment. Hortelano cited as an example the initiatives launched by the tech ecosystem after the floods caused by Storm DANA in October 2024 in Valencia.
Artificial intelligence was one of the central themes of the second day. The day began with “AI as the New Infrastructure: Investing Beyond the Hype” by Christian Teichmann (Burda Principal Investments). Ana Peleteiro, Vice President of Data and Applied AI at Preply, explored how AI is transforming the way people learn, teach, and connect, enabling highly personalized, data-driven education on a global scale.
Later in the day, Iñaki Berenguer, serial entrepreneur, investor, and founder of multiple successful startups in the U.S. and Europe, shared his perspective on how AI is revolutionizing the healthcare industry. Drawing on his experience at the forefront of technological innovation, Berenguer discussed the future of AI-based health solutions, the emergence of new technology categories, and the strategic role that European entrepreneurs can play on the global stage.
Volodymyr Nosov (WhiteBIT) presented a talk on blockchain’s role as the foundation of the new digital economy. Former Premier League champion Sol Campbell joined a conversation on resilience and success, while Hugo Arévalo (ThePowerMBA) and Luis Garay (Samaipata) discussed investment strategies. World-renowned longevity researcher Aubrey de Grey delivered the keynote “Taking Rejuvenation Research to Escape Velocity.” Meanwhile, on the Santander Stage, Gwen Kolader (Hexaware Technologies) addressed inclusive leadership in international contexts.
Over the two days, the seven stages of VDS hosted the most influential voices in global innovation and culture, covering major technology trends including Smart Cities and Digital Infrastructure, Next-Generation Consumer Technologies, Talent and the Future of Work, HealthTech and Longevity, the Future of Energy and GreenTech, DeepTech and Scientific Innovation, Aerospace Industry, Cybersecurity, and Defense.
