Our students who participate in the iSP Model United Nations programme have amazing opportunities to travel the world and participate in conferences on a global scale.
Whether it be attending an MUN summer camp in America or participating in this year’s iSP MUN conference in Malaysia, the iSP MUN programme offers a unique platform for students to step into the shoes of diplomats and world leaders, tackling pressing global issues through the lens of diplomacy and international relations. This immersive experience goes beyond academic learning, fostering personal growth and equipping students with essential skills for success in the 21st century.
By representing different countries and engaging in spirited debates, students develop their confidence in public speaking, critical thinking, and persuasive communication. They learn to articulate their viewpoints clearly, listen attentively to diverse perspectives, and negotiate effectively to reach common ground. These skills are invaluable not only in academic settings but also in professional and social contexts.
UC Berkeley MUN Summer Camp
Every summer, Best Delegate, host a Model UN institute Summer Camp at UC Berkeley. This provides students aged 11 – 17 with the opportunity to spend a week learning to become a global citizen, connecting with high performers, and receiving personalised mentorship. Students are able to develop the confidence to share their ideas, collaborate in group projects, build connections and friendships, and become a leader in their future.
This year, a select group of students from three iSP schools were awarded the opportunity to attend UC Berkeley’s MUN Summer Camp. The group consisted of five students from Liceo Panamericano Centenario in Ecuador, two students from Sancta Maria in India and two students from Asia Pacific Schools in Malaysia.
The camp blends engaging lessons, interactive MUN simulations using different types of formats, public speaking labs, games and time for delegates to socialise. Students make opening speeches, debate with other students, write crisis notes and press releases and develop resolutions to address real life global issues.
“It is a great programme to understand who you are and to discover the leadership skills you possess. The camp provides a supportive and encouraging environment that allows you to express yourself freely and confidently.” – Student, Sancta Maria (India)
We hear firsthand about their experiences and how they found the event.
