The 10th edition of the awards recognises the most innovative startups in the Valencian ecosystem and distributes €60,000 to boost technological entrepreneurship.
The tenth edition of the VLC Startup Awards, held in the city of Valencia, has recognised Evolving Therapeutics SL and Fivecomm as the main winners of this year’s edition, receiving the awards for Best Seed Startup and Best Startup 2025, respectively.
Both startups stood out for their ability to transform knowledge and technology into real, scalable solutions with positive impact. In the case of Evolving Therapeutics SL, the award recognises its work against multi-resistant bacteria, while Fivecomm was honoured for its leadership in IoT and 5G solutions applied to industry and sustainability.
A key event for Valencia’s innovation ecosystem
The event was held as part of the Valencia Innovation Capital strategy of the Valencia City Council, in collaboration with Startup Valencia, and brought together startups, investors, corporates, knowledge agents and public institutions.
The VLC Startup Awards were created with the aim of showcasing and supporting startups that provide innovative solutions to major urban, economic and social challenges, contributing to the consolidation of Valencia as an international benchmark for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Prize distribution and financial support for startups
During the ceremony, a total of €60,000 in prizes was awarded. Eight startups recognised across different categories received €5,000 each, while the two winners in the categories of Best Seed Startup and Best Startup of the Year received €10,000 each.
This financial support seeks to strengthen the growth and consolidation of entrepreneurial projects within the local ecosystem.
Municipal commitment to technological innovation
Paula Llobet, Councillor for Tourism, Innovation and Investment Attraction, highlighted the Valencia City Council’s commitment to technological entrepreneurship and the strengthening of the local startup ecosystem.
She emphasised that the city council not only trusts entrepreneurial talent, but also invests in it, announcing that through Valencia Innovation Capital the largest startup support package in the city’s history will be launched, with €1 million allocated to reinforce the ecosystem.
Within this framework, the Startups Seed 2025 programme will have €600,000 available for early-stage projects, while the Early Stage programme will allocate €400,000 to support startups with traction and private investment.
Awards across strategic categories for the city
During the ceremony, which also featured the participation of Nacho Mas, CEO & Executive VP of Startup Valencia, awards were presented in several strategic categories. In Sustainability, Crowmie was recognised; in Artificial Intelligence, ByteHide; and in Health and Wellbeing, EBHealth3 SL with its project Wellness Watcher.
Awards were also given in Gaming and Entertainment, to Tabletop Creator; Innovative and Sustainable Tourism, to Your Friends Are Boring; Diversity, to Llum Social; GovTech and Smart City, to SimZero; and Talent and Edtech, to Eldes.
A consolidated milestone for Valencian entrepreneurship
The VLC Startup Awards are consolidating their position as a key event for Valencia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, reaffirming the city’s commitment to startups that are developing the solutions of the future and generating economic and social impact from Valencia.
